42 fountain straight bottom 100 mph

You know it really is amazing how the speeds increased so dramatically with the steps on the 42. I mean we are talking about 1000's, triple 525's etc. The 42 PR will run close to 100 with 525's and my last 42 X ran right at 100 with 600's with the right props and nothing else in the boat (including gas LOL). Just saying.

the one that sat at boats unlimited for about 6 years...and was docked in across the cove from ledges condo's for years....42 signature trip 502...

met that guy ands his wife back in 98 right after i had bought mine, he had just bought the boat, we were fueling up at that little gas dock at the back of the cove were the Bronx is ( fuel dock is long gone ) could never under stand why that boat did not sell all those years, im guessing because it was a triple.

later

that is the only reason I can come up with....because after about 60 hours of this and a few hundred bucks in the cockpit....preston said it looked better than any new one....i will agree it came out very nice....

whats it take ...say a triple bravo set up or twin # 6 set up

if memory serves correctly..I thought reggie had around 1200 per side in the old ohio steel 42 when he set it at 123.....remember the triple scarab vs fountain twin wars of the 90's

Dick Simon used to own that boat and when it was completely rerigged and had fresh 1100+ engines it ran around 100-105
