What's Happening
Here is a project I cannot finish and am willing to part with. This is a 40 foot US Navy Seal Team Fastboat I purchased from the Navy in Norfolk VA(St. Julien's Creek) in July of 1997. Seal Team 6 was based here. This was built by United States Marine in Gulfport Mississippi for US Special Operations as an assault craft. From research, this was apparently one of two delivered in the fall of 1991. SOC 14 or 15 Hull # 48 or 49 ( no identification visible on the hull of this boat). It's main purpose was drug interdiction and was designed to be air droppable. Armanent included two electrically operated Gatling Guns ( the mounts are still on the boat) and two M60's. There is a pad on the front deck that I have been told mounted a rocket launcher that was stowed in the bow compartment. Power was provided by two supercharged chevy bigblocks through race modified Velvet Drive transmissions and Mercruiser SSM III outdrives. Engines were raw water cooled. Latham Marine supplied the steering system. Instrument gauges are by Gaffrig. I purchased the hull and have collected the race-modified transmissions and SSM III outdrives. The steering system is complete including cylinders, and tie linkage. Drive lift cylinders plus two spares are included with this sale. All these are shown in the attached photos. Also included are some parts for building up a couple of big block engines and commercial big block water cooled exhaust manifolds and risers. There are two large compasses that are ready to install just below the windshield but stored separately. I have $18,000 into this project and would like to recover a good portion of that investment.
