$38,375 in debt - Thanks Obama

Just wait until the Bush tax cuts run out and everyone's paying a couple grand more a year in taxes. Don't worry somehow it will be the last administrations fault!

yeah, its all obamas fault!. none of it was two completely unfunded wars or a prescription drug plan completely on our credit card, etc.

Plenty of blame to go around. Congress is the number one abuser though.

CBS News

It took the U.S. government 191 years – from 1791 until 1982 – to run up its first trillion dollars in debt. The second and third trillions got on the scoreboard much more quickly – each in just four years.

By the time George W. Bush was inaugurated in 2001, the National Debt stood at $5.7-trillion. He ran up more debt faster than nearly all of his predecessors combined: just under $4.9-trillion.

The National Debt stood at $10.6-trillon on the day Barack Obama took office. But if his budget projections are accurate, he'll run up nearly as much government debt in four years as President Bush did in eight.

yes you are correct. congress writes the laws but doesnt the president submit his budget to congress? and doesnt he have a big veto pen available?

You mean the prescription drug plan opposed by Democrats who thought it wasn't big enough? Yeah, that one.

Everyone here does realize that Obama simply added to the already HUGE Bush deficit, right?

Yes I think everyone realizes this administration is just adding to the deficit...The real issue is he's going to more than double it with his grand expansion programs that quite frankly will bankrupt more companies and just add to the people needing assistance...

Nothing in this so-called Health Care reform will reduce the amount people pay for it. If it reduces them on paper but saddles the employers with more costs it will be passed down or the companies will just cease to exist.

problem is most people want things (services and programs) but dont want to pay for them. democrats need to accept program cuts and republicans need to accept that tax cuts (lost revenues) are going to increase debt. neither party is honest and they both will drive us over the cliff
