looking at a 30 velocity (late 80's). How do these boats run in bigger water? What are some things i should look out for? Can you tell me about the good, the bad and the ugly with these boats?
thank you

i can tell you i have a 25 outlaw, past 2 footers in the ocean, at 55-60 mph,not pleasant. i also have a 388slingshot hustler, 4 footers at 70 mph,all day not a problem, length and weight to me in my expereince makes a world of difference. that is just my expereince. good luck.

They are fair at best in the rough. My bought new 1988 (bought new in 1990)Regal delaminated and ejected 3 of us on pearl harbor day 1990. The water was cold and we are lucky to be here. I do think Regal is a great company run by a real family that cares about boaters. The Velocity project is not what I would call typical of Regal and is best just forgotten. Some of the boats were built at Maelstrom under Mark Beaver (very competent longtime Intrepid/Super Hawaii guy) and are said to be more robust.

For the record although my boat sunk with injuries Regal customer service really was the best I have experienced.
