28 Active Thunder vs 28 Pantera vs ???

Thanks for the info and pics. I think my buddy is going to possibly become a cult member. I am sure once he actually sees mine and takes a ride in it that will be enough to make him a cult member. stay tuned maybe he will get with Pat and order this 29' That has been talked about?

My first 24 was also a sitdown boat. This boat has a "kustom" interior. Motors are on a bracket too... I could actually move the seats forward a bit if I wanted even more space. I've got some ideas on what I want to do with the seating... We'll see where it goes! :D

Forgot ya had that one, but whats that boat in the first pic?

The AT Guys are like a big Family, Pat is a good guy and Pays his bills, I respect him.

28 AT and 28 Pantera are argueably the best riding boats in this size range. The AT will be about 2 MPH faster from my experience and the extra freeboard is real nice. Can't go wrong with with either though.

Cockpit pic. of the Pantera 28' with the lowered padded footrests. We re-designed the cockpit last year on the 28' model plus added the new T.S. bottom, recessed hull side option with LED lights , lower CG, etc. etc.

JO

Jo beautiful boat. will you have one at the Miami show? Is so will you have one in the water?

West coast boat. Something I've been thinking about doing with the big interior in my 24 to make it a little more "social"...

So this "social" aspect you're going for...
That just means more cooler space under the seats, right??:cheers2:

I really like my 28 Powerplay, great in the rough.

Not quite as deep as an AT I don't think though, but still not a "small boat".

No newer one's out there though, and not many at all actually. Just thought I'd throw it out there as when I was looking it was the 3rd Fl built boat that was comparable with Pantera/AT.

The 28’s were done in the Original 32 Cobra mold which started life as a 29 Cary so you are a foot off the baddest offshore Boat around in the Old Old days ,We never did build a Block-Off for the new Hull Mold which I did in 94 for the the 28 deck.

You're talking about the "taller" 33? I do wish mine had that 6 inches, but it's not bad at all.

I've been told there's only 13-14 28's out there, it's a collectible.:driving:

There were very few built! it is a rare Boat,The place was busy building the new high side 33's and open fisherman were also selling very well.So the 25 and the 28 were put up in the mold shop with the old Cobra tooling, Danny started planning the 38 around this time.

Just my $.02, we've really been pleased with our 28ZX in the rough as well as sleeping aboard for a 4 night weekend (2 times). Lake Erie dished up some 4-5's on a run last year (5 1/2 mile strectch), but didn't care to get over 30 (stayed more around 23-26). In 2-3's she's a real comfortable ride. Twin small blocks though, but I have no desire to ever go back to a single big block again. Been spoiled with the twins! Good luck to you and your friends endeavor!
