24 Plum Loco

:bump:Way to Go Angel, I am sure we can dig it up:sifone:

I know it was a serious small block, I am thinking maybe a blown 377??

I spoke to Pepe and he told me it was a high compression SBC.
Someone has to have a pic of the engine in this bad boy somewhere.?

I remember somebody told me ..like a 13:1 compression on 116 octane !!!!
But hey..u really don't want that ????!!! 8 bucks a gallon...and only work and maintnance ???!!!!!

360-364 C.I. 13:1 compression. Around 600HP. Built by Performance something in Panama City. A car engine shop. Ask Jo, he might have pics.

Not looking for a 600 h.p. 13:1 compression motor to run 85+ mph......but what do you guys think it would take to say run 65 mph from a SBC

Don't know 100% but i thought it was with the beefy SBC ????!

1. Supercharger Systems (38) 112mph
2. Plum Loco (24) 103.6mph
3. Mig28 (28) 102mph.

# are from an other thread !!!:sifone:

Angel... speak to Laz.
He gave me some great pricing on a 475HP 383ci a few yrs back.
Even if you don't buy from him, he'll have ideas for you.

BTW, i was running 74.8 w/ 560hp bbc.
Now Jeff is running closer to 78-79 w/ the same broken in setup.

Rob what's up..
Yea Laz has had some some great SBC build up's...especially stroker's.

thx
Angel

Pat Weismann is doing a LOT with LSX power. Next generation engine with lots of power potential. They fixed a lot of stuff that didn't work on the last generation small blocks (like the siamesed exhaust ports and head cracking). They're running a pair off them in the old Ettore Extreme and the thing runs like a scalded cat.

That dude made me dizzy with his camera work:rolleyes:

I think Angel has a 400 laying around he is wanting to work with.

BAD AZZ but yea the camera work has me sea sick right now...hehehe

I've got a 400 SBC and was just given a 355 4bolt main complete motor by my brother in law from one of his boats ...:sifone:
I know that ultimate power is a BBC, but I have always wondered how a real nice small block would do in a 24 Pantera....especially after seeing how well that damn Plum Loco runs.
My plan is to make some minor changes to the 355 on the top end, cam, intake and heads..and slap her in just to get it in the water.
As for the 400...I have a couple of different ideas...one of which Rick gave me...that would make it a real nice SBC.

At the end of the day SBC's are a dime a dozen and DAMN cheap compared to BBC. Yes I know displacement rules but I think that with todays technology in parts you can build a VERY reliable SBC that will run all day long and not break the bank either.

Plus, think of the balance, a big power lightweight smallblock with the TRS COG would be killer. Plus the potential to turn RPM, as you have witnessed, my 24 ran 60 with a 225, turning some rpm:driving:

Angel, of anyone, you should know the sbc situation, since your 24 and 28 both had them. That's how i'd build a 28... twin 450-500sbc.
