2017 SBI ...Sophmore Slump

Winds were supposed to be a rare 5-10 MPH in KW ...So I left Little Torch with plenty of time to get the Boat in the Water and make it out to

turn #3 ....I was fueling up (90 Octane , no ethanol) at the Marina(Garrison Bight) and I noticed the Pump wasn't showing any numbers....

even though the Fuel was flowing...So I stopped and told the Guy to cut me off at 20 gallons ( I put 2 containers of Oil in the tank for 20 gallons)

He said no problem....except it filled all the way up....and then I couldn't pay because He had no Idea how much Fuel pumped

(I still have 45 minutes to get to turn #3) Well 40 minutes later they decided I put in 28 gallons:cuss:

So I just paid it and took off late...Harbor was now closed and I had to go around the Island ...Caught the last 2 laps of Race one

Boats are too far away but I give it a go ....1st Race ends and I get out the anchor.....get in as close as possible...and drop it....5 minutes later the USCG says

no anchoring...:banghead:

Wind picking up....So now I'm throttle jockeying and trying to take pics....fighting the wind and current and 5 other Boats...

Someone asked why I went alone....It's because I'm a shy P*sser...:blush5:

I have more pics just as bad...Cut My hand yesterday at work....and reopened it today on the Boat....bleeding all over the place It and I thought "Am I enjoying this?"

The answer was no...So headed back to the Marina and missed the last two Races...I'll be in the Pits Friday...Stable positioning and lockable toilets..

Next year we will help you with the boat. And we will stand in the pits. I want to go back to the Mermaid B&B so we are close to downtown. Being on the back of the island with no car stinks.
