A woman accidently shot herself in the mouth. She told police that she kept her asthma medication and a gun under her pillow at night, and when she reached for the medication grasped the gun by mistake.
The Stock Island Dog Track was being cleaned up to reopen as a high-tech remote wagering site with an opening date of Nov. 10.
A man sprayed a Key West police officer with foam in an apparent effort to win a bet. The man was arrested and charged with battery on a police officer.

A couple was arrested for breaking and entering the Monroe County Animal Control shelter on Stock Island and taking their dog, which had been picked up by animal control.
The main attraction at the Sunset Celebration was Will Soto's wire walking and juggling act.
One of the messages heard on an answering machine: "Hi. Leave a message. I hope it's not important because I'm fishing and won't be back for a while.
