The 1974 Embassy/Daily Express International Offshore Powerboat Race from Cowes to Torquay and back. The winner was Carlo Bonomi in 'Dry Martini' at a world record speed of 66.9 miles an hour. Second and third for Great Britain were 'Wiggins Teape' and 'I Like It'. Actually second across the finishing line was 'Miss Embassy' but it's futuristic turbine engines make it a ghost entry.
