103 in an svl ?

Class rep? More, or less up in the air. I thought Paul would make a good leader, and might ask to take over. I currently have lost interset for the time being. Playing catch on all the things I have neglected the last few years. Amazing how time I have now, not doing that testing that I was told I never did. Found about 20 hours a week to do other things, like work on my pleasure boat.

WOW ! Theres the first boat for sale LOL !

( I feel youre pain , I really do )

:QUOTE=Wreckdoctor;519043]So this weekend at the loto shootout we will have four svl's running the one mile track for bragging rights and a plastic trophy. Boats running will be pirate racing, under destruction, octane, and watch your back,,,

Any pre race guesses on outcome and speeds????

Looking forward to a great event this weekend watching some of the fastest boats around, while enjoying a few drinks with some out of town friends..[/QUOTE]:hurray:

Here's a thought. During the off season everyone who owns a 'Vintage' SVL should be allowed to modify the hull and deck anyway they desire to improve performance but staying within the length restriction. All of the phantoms and Extremes that are already modified were modified for a reason, more performance, so in reality this is a progression of technology on older boats. Come the start of 2011 season all modifications stop. What you have is what you stick with from there on in. New set of rules for 2011, grandfather those older modified boats and now everyone is on an even playing field with the new technology. This would allow back in the modified bottom Activator, Lavey have moved strakes on their pleasure version with good results so do the same with the existing raceboat

My guess is no one will break hit or break 100.:sifone:

Boats running will be;

pirate racing - 94

under destruction - 96

octane - 94

watch your back - 97

If they run in legal trim for everything except weight and second person. :blush5: If not, someone may break 100, maybe two or three.

I don't think there is any decent way to reasonably check the bottoms of any boat for "tweaking" or "modification". Maybe everything should be allowed as long as the length, width at transom, width at widest point, overall height, and gunnel height meet the dimensions of the dedicated molds.

Dont forget those early boats were built to run OFFSHORE.The only one I ever saw layed a little liter was the hull U.D. has now .

Rat Do have a hull in mind for next season ? I know you are said you were trying .
Jus curious . :driving:

WHAT IS A " DEDICATED MOLD " IF YOU LOOK only SBI has a definition ,, and it,s not a 50' mold and everything you can build down to 3' ??

I still say ,,,,30 ' canopy ,,single 525,,,bravo/imco,,,,come get yourself some,!!! it,s coming

My guess is that the Watch Your Back boat will be the slowest of the 4. :sifone:

Dedicated is a common word that you can find in a dictionary so it does not need to be defined in the rules. It means exactly what it says - dedicated. A mold dedicated to that particular boat.

We saw 91 last year, and was surprised. 92 maybe, 93 is long shot. If we run.

Cooler air will help, but is still just a standing mile. Might be bumping the start speed this year to 40 will help.

Than again We got new non leaking headers, and tail pipes. Got to worth 5 mph

Why not start with any bottom, any mods 30' ok, Bravo/Imco,no external water pick up and a max of 29-6 blade 15.25 diameter or 30 pitch 15.25 diameter prop, Sealed merc 525, 4750 lbs out. :hurray::hurray:
