103 in an svl ?

I read they were planning on Patchogue..

I just added Cocoa to the forum calender. Change the date of AC, I hear that Orange Beach may be back on..

These changes overlap OPA and SBI races. Teams that planned to attend both must now choose.

See forum calender for more info.

The results do not reflect that. They ran P4 as usual.

You quoted me incorrectly, and incomplete,,,,,,, do not take it out of contexts,,,,,,,

..."When you compare the online published rules ( V limited) of SBI, OSS and OPA they are almost the same. They appear to be basic for sealed motors, weight, and hull, all others go to a production series class. The activator boat competed in this clase last weekend in Indiana......."

The activator boat competed in a productions series class,, ( P-4), not an SVL Class,,,,,, I assume that will be the class for all boats that do not meet the requirements for SVL or Super Cat Lite,,,

The summer is almost over in Colorado,, but we are not "suspending", or "adjusting" our team's racing schedule.

We are simply continuing with testing, and commitment to the race events.

I agree .....there a number of new boats on the horizon, that are being constructed to the specs of the sanctioning race organizations.

I have heard about the VIP Party that your team hosts ( Taste of Torque ?) each year @ the LOTO Shootout. It was also listed in PB Magazine.
Can I get any details or invite?
Will polish boats for ticket

The Activator boat meets the requirements of SVL. It has had a lot of work done to it in the past year and needs more dialing in time and tweaking to be fully competitive in the class. Mark is working on it.

Sorry to hear this. Derek and I have discussed a new Fountain for the class if our SV sells. Personally, I think the best that can happen is if the class races under one Org with one set of rules and one set of tech inspectors.

Rick and Dean, let me know what you are planning to do. I am ordering a new one, for Boomer. Going down to Fountain after Patchoque. Smitty

So the tadpole grows legs and dose not become a frog to race in class 5 ( we have been waiting for him )...he just becomes a iguanea and snapes his tail in SVL....Damm...he is lucky...:willy_nilly:

Smitty, First we need to sell the SV, but the way that Fountain SVL was running was impressive to say the least. Running in a 30' at 100mph plus with reliable power is very intriguing. Now that techhnology has advanced in that class and it is still reasonable priced, its tough to say no.

Now can we talk Rolf and Louie into one?

Smitty ,,if you order it after Patchog ,,you should have it for Atlantic City ,,they built the last one in 2 weeks ???? at least that is what they told the world,,,but then again they also told the world it was for a father and son bonding hobby,,,or a father and daughter bonding ,I mean sister and brother bonding,,,,or was it ,,, RIDE ALONG WITH A ?????? EITHER WAY,,,,, I like Boomer,,,he is a cool kid ,, good luck ,,be careful ,,,race safe....

YEP ,,like Smitys sv class,,,,I think we could rally about 10 ,,

Actually, you guys could do that right now. Adopt the rules I sent you and Mark weeks ago, grandfather all the current old boats that raced 2009 and before, and be done with it. That way you protect the investments of the current old boat owners and pave the way for another several years of equal, fun racing among yourselves. No sense in even allowing new boats in the class.

Rather, allow OPA, SBI, APBA/UIM, P-1, GPS, FBI, CIA, AFL-CIO, to worry about creating a new single engine class from basically scratch. Problem solved.

Or since most of the 525 Computers have been hacked anyway. Give the pre 2009 SVL 5650 rpm. All new hulls stay at 5400. New hulls weigh 400 lbs more.

Smitty,

You the man. You know how I feel about you buddy. But here is the thing: The horse is out of the barn and there is no way it is going back in. I get why new boat guys would want to include old boats, but truth is, there is no way to make the old boats competitive with the new boats - I mean there is but it would be too expensive to police and enforce, and really hard on the rulesmakers. Look, it is just my opinion, but I think it would be better to just create the right new class model without worrying about how to fit in the old boats. Make rules for the new boats and grandfather in the old boats who want to race in the new class but forget about parity, etc. I honestly, think you could create an awesome new racing class from scratch.

In fact, if I had it to do over again that is the class I would make the centerpiece of a new series. 110 mph single spec engine and v-hull boats for $135K complete and race ready. Heck, I would make one-man crews optional as well.

One more thing, it is too easy to cheat weight, and teams are already doing it. Same goes for limiting revs.

Hey Smitty there are three more being rigged right now.

See, there you go. Doc, 3 boats being rigged, Smitty, Sunsation, and I think there are 2 or 3 other guys on here who have said they are ready to build if the rules are set, etc. So that is like 7-8 boats at least ready to run next year, right?

You do not need to beat up and ruin the values of the older boats to have a great class. Take it from me, it is not worth the time, trouble, money, or headaches to create a set of rules that include the old boats and even less worth it to maintain parity.

Hell, I could write a complete set of rules for the new class in no time - for a fee of course :)
