Not a Velocity....just another "popped" boat, most likely from a west coast manufacturer. It's not all that easy to build and manufacture a boat. If you don't have the cash to do it properly (design and build your own plug) then stay away from the biz...

The original factory built "single" engine Magnum 27 was..... A boat called Screamin Yellow Zonkers, doubt many know this boat, but it ran really well. Guessing it was early 70's. Anybody ever hear of it? Out of Grosse Point michigan!

Thanks for the update...but in this day, it would be nice to see this project on a blog of some sort. sinking or not, things happen, but publicity and promotion is ONLY a good thing when chasing a speed record to support Big Al's, and his son's, dream. There seems to be little to no info...

In the mid to late 70's, most of the 28 Cigs/27 Magnums had only a chicken bar to hold on to with throttle mounts and a 3 man bolster. There was the Flying Machine, probably one of the more popular race 28's...here's a pic of our boat, but its just basic 28 SS weekend racer.

Well, from what T2x indicates, it sounds like this design may have developed from a lot of theory and not modifying proven efforts. That's scary (and expensive). Why is their such a tight lid on the designed and builder or whatever?

C'mon, Rich (T2x)...tell us how the O/B going inboard were supposed to work. And curiously, why didn't it? In theory, sounded good. Or did it work and never caught on?

So why no molds? Wouldn't it be easier once you have a design fine tuned to make a mold?:confused:

It is my interpretation that these boats are built to the specific customers demands and all to date have been race boats. I saw some cockpit pictures earlier in the thread, just do research, or have them draw one up for you. It appears that it will be made anyway you want it depending on how...
