What boat did Lance Ruble win P-stock with in 82 & 83? Also, what boat did Rob Weinsten win P-stcok with in 85?

Lance ran his Manta Vee hull back then, but it seems like your dad won at least one of those years.

Rob ran his I/O Chris Cat, Smokey and the Bandit

I made an error in my original post. My Dad won in 83 & 84. I meant to ask what boat Lance was running in 81 and 82. My Pops must have had some breakdowns for a Manta to beat him:sifone: especialy after winning teh nat'l championship in 82.

Nicky Cutro won with my dad's old boat in 86 I see. I wonder if he raced in 85 against Smokey and the Bandit. Curious to know what happenned there.

I seem to recall Nicky being there in the Boardwalk, which is your Dad's old boat (I think). 85 had a huge P class fleet. I think they started Super, Open and Modified together and P class had it's own start. Lot's of Chris Cats and Shadows. On the last day there were something like 7 or 8 boats that had a mathematical chance at winning the championship. Ahh, good times.

I found out in 82 he(Black Duck) was leading going in the last race, but they blew up 2 motors and limped back in.

To earn a Championship in 1986:
Super, Open and Modified ran a total of 352.45 miles over 3 days.
Pro Stock 265.45 miles
Stock A and B {twin 200's} 228.5 miles
Div Sportsman 141.5 over 2 days.

To Win a World Championship was a feat of endurance.
