President Bush- Farewell speech at 8pm tonight

That was kinda short.

I did realize tho that the way that it turned out.... I could go back to my regular life after 9/11 but he could not. He had to stand watch.

May Obama stand watch as well.

if I was bush, by 6 pm tues I would be beyond drunk... I would shake Obama's hand, wish him good luck, then open the handle of captain morgan and throw the cap away.

I thought it was a good speach. Short and to the point.

I am sure he can't wait to get down to Crawford and just get ripped.....

He deserves it. :cheers2:

So, what did the impeached Clinton deserve then?

He deserved not to have been impeached in the first place by a bunch of right-wing zealots who have nearly wrecked this country in the last 8 years.

That speech was typical drivel. Still won't admit any mistakes. Nothing was his fault. Stupid and cowardly to the bitter end.

Good fcuking riddance.

I think history will show that this was a good presidency for both terms. Hell went in the hand basket when Nancy Pelosi took control of the majority of congress. I would much rather have a President that would kill someone that wanted to harm any American citizen, even those that disagree with him, than one that would turn tail and run or hide.
The mess of this economy has been allowed by decades of dishonest people, stealing from the government and anyone else they could swindle, it continued with Enron, which was under the dear Bill Clinton watch. as well as whitewater, and other calamities. I hope that President Obama can make a difference, but with the way he has started, I firmly believe it is only a matter of time before something is found out that has teeth and will stick. The only part worse than that is that the people that voted for him will turn a blind eye rather than admit it.
If I had the chance to meet president Bush, I would certainly thank him.

For a BJ? Maybe a divorce. For starting a war on cooked-up intelligence by his VP? They both should go to jail. LBJ did the same thing with the Gulf of Tonkin lie but he was dead long before the truth came out.

No, for lying under oath to a Grand Jury. That was the impeachemnt reason. Try it yourself sometime and see how long you spend in jail.

Was he convicted? I don't remember a jail term he served.

You can be impeached without serving jail time or being removed from office. He was the second President to be impeached.

"Upon the passage of H. Res. 611, Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228-206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221-212 vote). Two other articles of impeachment failed — a second count of perjury in the Jones case (by a 205-229 vote) and one accusing Clinton of abuse of power (by a 148-285 vote)."
