The spoiled under-30 crowd!!!

my cousin took an old riding mower and rigged it to run off a chainsaw motor, it had the tiller style steering, and you had to steer with one hand and squeeze the trigger with the other, it had one speed" fast" and hard to steer, it was a dangerous ride but all the kids took a turn. now a day's that would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.:driving:

Those were the days... And speaking of lawsuits..I remember when my father and I built a 12' tall half pipe in our back yard.. every kid from all around came to skate it.. some were pretty good and some were'nt..That was back when helmets and all the gear was pretty expensive so a lot of us did without..that pipe sent many kids home w/ missing teeth and bloody faces.. Can you imagine the lawsuit that would ensue these days..

We had these Killbillys down the rd that put a chainsaw on a gocart> that thing was sick fast.

A friend of mine had a Mac something 2 stroke go cart. Silly fast. It would seemingly never stop spinning the tires

Me too.

Are Estes rockets still around

you should see the stuff now, remember when a D12 was a big motor? I was playing with j+ motors a couple years ago, supersonic and 10,000 feet plus is easily doable with one motor. you can get even bigger motors, but you have to give the batf way too much information.

mini bikes with no brakes and sticky throttles

lol, that reminds me of the mini bike me and my friend built. Got a complete frame at a garage sale and got the motor off my dads lawnmower. Man that thing was fun for a couple of thirteen year olds. We use to ride that thing everywhere. Only hitch was it ran great but every once in a while it would just explode the slipper clutch and throw all the springs and friction blocks ever where. In retrospect it is terribly funny but i gotta tell ya trying to find all those parts along side a railroad track in all that stone really sucked. Most times it was spread over a swath that started while you were going about fourty and ended at zero.:D

MY Son called and asked me how to make a potato gun this weekend. I told him he would put his eye out because kids aren't as lucky as we were. A few hours later he sent me a pic on his phone of what looked like a .50 Cal in cammo paint! He figured it out on his own(and the internet). I don't know whether to be proud of him or ground him!:sifone:

we had the flaming tennis ball cannon :sifone:

Potato cannons!

My buddy sent me a link to a vid last year of one. I showed up at his house the next day with one. Whipped it up that night before. It shoots a tennis ball about 800 yards. At 30 feet, it'll shoot a tennis ball through a piece of 1/2" plywood. I'm afraid to put the 2" barrel on it and shoot potatoes.

That looks like something a shiny "Blue Man" would play Chris.

Damn, we did that too:sifone:

Also made a flamethrower out of a garden hose and a propane tank from a gas grill.

It's very surprising that I don't recall any of us needing a trip to the hospital, or a call to someones insurance agent.

That's one I'd like to try with the one inch barrel and a super ball. Straight up in a giant parking lot. Lost quite a few superballs that way.:)
