I thought about it a lot. Nobody shoots THAT bad. For Christ's sake, with enough rounds, you can walk in an AK47/SKS (conflicting reports) with bad sights watching the rounds hit the ground. They weren't shooting an episode of A-Team, so why so few hits? I think the whacko stewed about this and had some fantasy about being a martyr for the lefty cause. When the day came, he started shooting and hit Scalise (Low, because he didn't realize how heavy the 7.62 round is) in the hip. That woke him up, and took the "killer" right out of him. The other 100 rounds were terrorism, not hunting. Thank God. When he either stopped being able to feed the AK/SKS he dropped that and went to a 9mm and started moving back toward his vehicle but the Capitol Police cut him off and he ended up in a handgun battle he was not prepared for.

I haven't checked conditions this morning, so I am hopeful all are still recovering. Sounds like those two cops from Scalises detail helped keep the lid on this and ultimately advanced on him despite being hit.

If this happens again, I hope it isn't an actual merciless killer. That would have been so much worse. They were exposed. I think big groups of congressmen/senators like that should have precision shooter overwatch.
