Phragle's official winter upgrade thread..

The Avanti wouldn't have like the Hydromotive anyway, too much stern lift.

SAme with the cleaver..trimmed it to the moon and once the nose broke free all it did was porpoise. Im thinking either a bravo or a rev4 is going to be the ticket, but before I start buying more props I need to wait untill I see how much hp Im gping to be making...

New motor gen5 454 mag bottom end, alum heads (not sure which yet, but the intakes will stay under 320) 500hp efi roller cam and holley dominator EFI... probably stainless marine for the exhaust

required even more opposite tab, but thats unquantifiable due to how poorly the boat was handeling overal

Yeah, mine had more hook on one side than the other. I ground both sides and re-gelled; the bottom was approx. 1 1/2" thick so I could get away with this fix.

No. The difference was about 1/4". Mine is an '88, it is built well. I got lucky, some were not built so well; print-through, wavy bottoms, etc.

Yeah kind of trips me out hearing you say your bottom was really thick... My bottom was so bad that with the motor out and standing in the bilge you could see the bottom flex as you shifted your weight. I does not do that anymore.

Its gonna be another expensive ass winter..... So far we have a set of 280's to put on, imco dual ram steering to mount, stainless marine exhaust, And then there is the motor project.....

Im trying to make it fast enough to hydroblast the bottom clean.......
