The race had decent attendance, including some boats that had not been seen for quite awhile on any race course. There were three races, the first was about 15 minutes late pulling out of the pits, and even then they did it while there was still a freighter on the course. The ships were not cooperating with race control. The third race also started late because of additional ship traffic. And then the third race also had to be stopped early. That happened at about two-thirds of the way because of excess boat traffic with a cruise ship, a paddle wheeler, and a freighter all on the course back to back to back.

The location has a lot of potential for the future. Viewing along the course and room for boats and trailers were both good, even though the pit area could have used a grader and the yellow jackets were terrible. Many of the contestants got stung. But, not me thankfully....

The first race had three starts for three classes. The first start was the Super Vee Lites with a seven boat field.

It was not their best start with both Typhoon and Octane barely on plane and way behind the other boats when the flag went green.

Second start was Class 5 with six boats, only five of them actually made the green flag start with RUFSTR having to pull in with an overheating issue due to a seaweed plugged strainer. They did make a start a couple laps down and finished all of their laps.

The third start were the Class 7 outboard boats. There were six boats who made that start and they were lined up perfectly.

The second race of the day had two starts. The first start was Class 4 and had five participants.

The second start was Class 6 with 9 participants.

The third race of the day the starts were much farther down stream and out of view for those watching from next to the wet pit viewpoint. But, there were three starts and between the three there were:

2 Extreme Cats, Cat Can Do and Cintron
2 Super Cats, Amsoil and Cleveland Construction
1 Class 1, Bye Her (Formerly Circus Circus)
1 Class 2, the Bat Boat
3 Class 3, PTM Corp, Strictly Business, and Wazzup

Art and Britt Lilly were out front on the first lap, with Tug It right on their hip but then they lost a power steering pump, (locked up), and could not continue.
