I looked for it on line and at the KW Library.....nada.... there was a French movie of the same title , but made in 1929. They probably changed the name of it. I just asked "Lil" Toni Tarracinno if she had ever heard of it, and she said no. She was on the set of Cuban Crossing....since it was about her Father....she say's 90% of that movie was true.

1912 Capt. Charles Thompson, fishing near the Seven Mile Bridge on the schooner Somoa, harpooned a whale shark. After a struggle of eight hours, he forced it onto a sand bar, and reported that it took five days for the shark to die. Thompson towed his catch to Miami, where he was able to get it on shore. It measured 38 feet long and weighed 26,594 pounds. He had the shark mounted and exhibited around the country until it was accidentally destroyed in a fire in 1922
