43 Donzi....big air....small brain.

A not so bright individual took his 6 figure 43 ZR straight into a 40+ ft wave off the coast of California and gets major air. Very stupid thing to do.

Some of the comments..

I actually know the owner and one of the passengers. My buddy dislocated his hip and shoulder when the third passenger landed right on top of him.

The boat was a 35ft Donzi boat, the hull did get damaged and there were some pretty serious injuries on board. The owner just put $500 of work into the boat. The boat stalled out for about 2 min after the jump, then jammed back into SF Bay.

My impression was it was more an ignorant move then intentional and stupid. I did not appear he intended to catch air.

I wonder how much experience he had? There is no way most of us would even consider a straight on, at speed, into a wave of that size......

Ignorant, or stupid, still not a good thing. In some ways he was pretty lucky it wasn't worse......

If that's a 35 Donzi, the wave has to be close to 35' high. That means the nose of the boat fell about 60 feet ????????

I too, doubt that he was going out for air; just probably thought - wow - big water, I've got a big water boat. OH SH!!!T, do I roll it for sure or just try to punch through over the top? Lucky indeed.

From everything I've seen, it was a 43.
Obviously a bad decision all around. Especially with passengers.

Heard anything new?

yeah...they all would have been fine if they had just installed.....
