Can someone give me some insight as to what was said or happen?
I didn't participate in it, but I did see it.
To express what happened without calling anybody names or getting all political about it while simultaneously suggesting that I don't get all political about it, here is what happened:
He exercised his first amendment right and expressed a strong opinion in support of the re-elected potus on his business facebook page. He had every right to do that. However, some others (don't know that it was anybody on this thread, but that has been insinuated) strongly disagreed, and also expressed their opinions, exercising their first amendment rights. Then it came down.
I believe that it was freedom in action. His freedom to do as he pleases, and other's freedoms to disagree.
Personally, I wasn't shocked at all. I do think that using facebook to express strong political opinions could invite different views. He has just as much right to express his views as anybody else. I think that some conservatives felt that it was hypocritical for him to earn his living off of conservatives. However, I personally don't know how he makes his living, so I won't go there. I do think that he has every right to post his views. I do not expect everyone to agree with him. Those people can decide if they want to support him or not. I am not his customer. I did not feel the need to jump on the bandwagon. I read and moved along. I have disagreed with his politics in the past. It is no longer interesting to me.
Bottom line: People have the right to express their views. Sometimes, others will disagree. Once in a while, the debate gets heated enough that it is better to not have it on a business page. My guess is that he chose to end it. Also his right.
Agree or disagree. That's how it works.
