OPA Worlds in Jupiter - Updates and Gossip Thread

Well, here goes the updates as I know them this morning:

Updates:
About 45 boats total.

Water is flat this morning, not like yesterday at all. Forecast is not for increasing waves, but there is a chance of thunderstorms today which may kick it up a bit.

There were several of the SVL's which did not make it that were expected, but still a decent turnout for the class, 6 boats there currently.

Should be an interesting race because that is a competitive group.

Gossip:
Smitty missed the drivers meeting yesterday evening. Don't know why yet.

Gossip:
Boomer was a mile ahead. Second and third was tight between cotner and joker. Dont know about breakouts.

Just going with what I was told from the site. It's immediately after the first race ended, so it could be off a bit....

Gossip:
3 to 5's for Sunday in the forecast.
Geico ran out of gas.

Cat Can Do lost a blower belt. Ready to go again.

Gossip:
Several that didn't finish ran out of fuel because the course was changed from 6 miles to 8 miles, so they weren't prepared.

when was the course changed from 6 - 8 miles? was anyone notified or was this just an error in plotting the course?

I really don't know for positive, that's why it's under gossip. I do know more than one boat for sure ran out of gas.

Updates:

The course is bumpier. Winds out of the northeast, current out of the south. Looks like 2 to 3's for race time.

Gossip:

Everyone knows the couse has been changed from 6 miles to 8 miles so no one should run out of gas today.
Phoenix Parts was the only boat that tested yesterday?
