The official really freaking wicked awesome perfect things aboot Canada thread, eh?

How about Cougar boats before the company was sold and moved to the states.

Did they get bought by Wellcraft?
I remember Wellcraft having a 30ish Cat that they were building as part of the Scarab/Performance line in the 80's...
Or was it Chris-Craft that had it as part of the Stinger line??

Someone shake my memory for me...

I just remember it being the first performance "production" Catamaran that I remember seeing.

Yeah. The Chris Cat changed the offshore racing world.

I have no idea if it was a downsized European Cougar or not....

Oh, and just leave it to us to hi-jack a thread that has nothing to do with boats...
and start talking boats...

As long as you hijack with boats, all is good......

How about this:

Totally awesome thing aboot Canada...
We were able to smuggle booze across Lake Erie and the Detroit River from Canada during prohibition...

How's that for an awesome thing aboot Canada AND boats at the same time!!:hurray:

Makes me think of the wooden boats from that era. I like them! http://www.garwood.com/boats_20s.htm

And a modern woody built in Vancouver BC http://kazulinboats.com/production2.htm and another picture: http://www.croatia.org/crown/content_images/2007/Kazulin_Adriatic.jpg

And another BC company: http://www.seasonicboats.com/

They are absolutely beautiful. I would love to own one.
Funny thing is, I'd rather have a stable with a nice old Mahogany "rum-runner", a Cig Mistress, a 27 Magnum, and my Pantera complete, and I'd probably have less money in them all than a brand new Nor-Tech with 1350's.
