I like it too, but I have a vision of the hundred grand it would take to make it something that I would drive.:cheers2:

agreed, it wouldn't be cheap.

I remember all the performance boats that i've owned that were "affordable" ...

BAWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:dupe:

Everything that I tried to reuse on my last resto ended up being the weak links and slowing me down. In every case I ended up getting new parts. I would always go into something like this assuming that nothing at all can be reused and you only get a hull. That's the most expensive way to buy a boat that you can, but then again... it's the cost of turning back time. And having something that nobody can just go buy. :cheers2:

exactly!

when I was in HS and "building" my Dart GT convertible (20 yrs old at the time) the parking lot had no less than 12 late 70's to early 80's Camaros. Everyone had the exact same thing. I saw it as very boring. (this was a graduating class of ~120). I had something no one else had - or could just go and get...

same thing when it comes to boats - I'm not interested in a Fountain, Formula, Baja... etc. for the same reason. I don't want to be on the water and my exact model of boat pass by me 12 times

John, sounds like a good initial operating premise. It also seems like the ultimate restoration goal will drive a significant portion of overall cost. A "100 point- Concours" period perfect restoration is a whole different animal than a functional boat with average systems.

No question. But they are both boats, right? ;) :D
