So if he is the only SVL...will he have to run P4..or will they still have a SVL class with 1 boat...

This is why it may be better to rig boat #2 with a Carolina Racing 750HP and run P-4. Half the cost for more HP which is also reliable. Huge saving on rebuild costs and moreso completely avoid all the crap that SVL has gotten itself into this year.

Hey Gino, Im with you on the Ilmor. I did speak to JC a while ago regarding the Ilmor. His response was that if Ilmor sent in the specs and applied for the use of this motor for competition it would be considered. I think regardless of whether or not any competitors choose the Ilmor as a power package they should still go for the approval. I for one, throughout the entire cash spending frenzy during the boat build had the hardest time laying out for the new 525EFI. Even during unboxing the motor, which is normally an exciting time, the feeling of RAPE stuck with me the entire time. $8500 for a refresh on this particular motor is still not doing anyone any favours.

I will be curious to see the new OPA rules for the class as far as authorized facilities allowed to do refreshs on the 525s. Gary Smith from Carolina Racing Engines down here can do a complete rebuild on the 525 for $5500-$6000 and that is for every bit of what you will get at Inovation or Mercury.

Well...Smitty spent some time at Ilmors shop this year...and talked to Ian....
And Smitty has been around Mercury also and knows motors....
If there can be parity between both...I think it will be done..

The support from these guys was the best I even had experienced...
I can not say enough about there guys....and there are racers that are looking that way...

Also...It would be interesting if the Ilmor 725/Indy would be let into the 750 class...

what would it cost ,if you did it yourself,? ( 525) rings,bearings,rocker arms , springs , valve job , and gaskets ,, 2000.00 ?? then send it out to a certified dyno shop..500.00..

don,t get me wrong ,Gino the Illmore would be the " BOSS" an indy v-10 ,,i just love the sound,,,,,

ps if they approve it ,,I,m real sure you will see it,!!

Had 2 people pledge last night about 8:45 that covered the sponsor that we lost yesterday and another phone call this morning from someone who is willing to make up the difference but needs to ask the boss (wife) first and is going to get back with me asap. Furthermore I will be back in touch with Randy this afternoon as he as been out of pocket for the last several days and I need to finalize with him.


I geuss we will keep it going because we're that close. I realize its not really fair to keep stringing Miklos along but he is the one who said he only needs 4 hrs notice Right?
