Key West Is going to be interesting this year .

You SVL,s should all show up .
you;re attendance isRe-quired to put this to a water vote not a $$$$$ buy out .. .

your going to be surprised on the number of svl,s that show up for key west ,this year ,,,

WE HAVE BEEN SAVING UP ALL YEAR ,,,$$$ LOLOLOL:seeya::sifone:

I don't think you can screw the dedicated mold. What the intent of that rule is, correct me if I'm wrong, is to stop the big dollar spenders from building one off hulls where the investment is not as great as a mold with multiple hulls for sale or sold.

Now, tweaking or modifications is the question.

"tweaking or modifications" as in modifying a boat hull and deck so it fits a smaller class?

Rumor has it that octane may be getting a 598 ci dart pushing 800 hp naturally aspirated with a 500 hp shot of nitrous for a little extra push at the last 1000 feet of track at the shootout this year ,,, just a rumor,

Getting back to the LOTO shootout debate. The above was posted on 6/15 by Wreckdoctor telling everyone what he had planned for the shootout. The official results from the shootout were posted today with:Forehand/Jannsen winning class PVL2F1 (factory motor) @ 93 mph and Lance & Shelley Sutton winning class PVL2M1 (modified motor) @ 100 mph. Two different boats and two different classes. What I don't understand from this particular thread as well as others on this site and the other one is why do people rush to accuse others of cheating. Instead of all these so called professional racers working together to grow the sport, it appears there are far more doing their best to destroy it. By the way congrats to Lance & Shelley, we are very happy ya'll didn't get hurt when you spun the boat out.

It does not take a rocket scientist to determine that running a boat at speeds above 130 with less traffic requires more skill-judgement than navigating one of the slowest, entry level SVL boats, around a course with some other slow boats in the path.
Not sure I would agree with that one. Factory 1 had 20+ boats, all going side-by-side for turn one at a mere 81-83mph.
Any lapse of "skill-judgement" and we look like "the big one" at the Pocono 500

What would have been cool, would have been if all the SVL ran in the same "stock" class to see who really has the speed

Yes....and we had a few of the Big Ones...and there was plenty of getting cut off....we just raced....

Gordo...hope to see ya again soon...I'm moving to NPR on Dec. 1....

Hope to see ya in K.W.

The speed of an SVL Pure Stock ( 496 525 ) in a straight line Is useless in determining it,s prowess . ( not to mention boring in any class Yes I,ve seen it )

The " OFFSHORE BOAT " challenge is the combination of ,driver throttleman , hull, and engine package ,in an " OFFSHORE " environement .

The lake thing is probably fun i,m sure ,I know for me on a little lake It got boring real fast .

Key West is the place to take down the " ( two ? )fountains . At least thats my bet . I,d like to see # 51 #66 #(47-10 )and "time band,d ( mazakoskis hull ) show up . That would do it . Three days racing .Everyboat boat tech ,d To keep it semi fair .

Now THAT should be fun . Maybe we can start a small wager fund to help with expenses . I know its hard to do southern races ,when you are not from here . But We want you here ,Know that !:driving:

Yes.... that is the same guy that hosted and gave an open invitation to all the SVL racers in Detroit for a Bar B Que ( guess you did not get invited to Detroit or his party).
He is a great guy and has a bad ass boat,,,and runs it to the max[/QUO

Wow, I feel so jilted!
Like my entry fees I also buy my own meals. For the record I have a slightly different palate than BBQ as my meal of choice, but to each their own.

Speaking of meals...when are you making your homemade pasta dinner again? And you thought we only came down to vacation...when it's really just for your culinary talents!:blush5:

So from reading the last few pages of nonsense, I learned two things.

1. Doc's boat goes 93 or 94 depending on how accurate the radar was this year.
2. It takes over 800 hp to make an SVL run over 100.

Hence, we can safely say that Doc's Fountain didn't run 103 in St Clair.

What I don't understand is why Lance would register his boat as a 525 SVL for the Shootout, go through inspection and then go home and drop in an 800hp motor without telling the inspectors and changing classes. What was the game plan behind the engine swap?

Everyone is looking forward to seeing the SVL battle on the big stage in KW. If there is anything i can help with feel free to give me a cool. Good luck buddy.

Ron ,,talking about not understanding ,,,,I DON,T UNDERSTAND WHY A GUY NEEDS TO CARRY A LAPTOP INTO HIS BOSSES RACE BOAT AT THE RACES ,,WITH A STOCK 525 ??
ANY GUESS ,,,Maybe he is adjusting the bilge pump timer thing,??

DO THEY HONESTLY THINK THIS CLASS IS SLEEPING ,,,!!!!

THANKS ,,,I think KEYWEST is going to be ??well if you like offshore ,,DON,T MISS IT,?? :bump::eek:

OK Dan,
What do you call this? You show up at a race with your buddies. You all race separate classes, ....I hope you get to experience what racing a dozen or more boats feels like.. Maybe then you could have a meaningful talk about a race program.

I do not get it,,, this is from someone that drives a single engine SVL boat( not a boat owner) at velocities of an average car( posted averages 80 ish), with traffic?. Comparing them to boat racers, running a V boat in ranges of 120-150?

Bring your boat to our waters in Moorehead in 3 weeks for a great SBI race,,,and let them toss all the boats out there at one time,,,,,,,,

This has to be the stupidest post...ever.

I gotta agree, the scariest racing I have EVER done in 17 years of racing was in 75-80mph F1 boats hands down..... racing a 40' V bottom does not compare to racing something 30' and under......

Running a 24 batboat in C5 will put hair on your ballz. I was never so happy to move to a 38 with suspension seats. :-)
