Does that late model cowling go on without changing the pans? I want to upgrade my 98 250 fishing motor to the later cowling like the one pictured, but was not sure what all was needed. Much more modern look, and the boat is looking great! I've been quietly following your makeover.

Thanks on the boat, you have to change the pans also, but they are split so you do not have to pull the powerhead. This one came with them and was selling for only $400 complete, the guy PM'd me last night with an opportunity to sell to someone else to go along with some other high$ parts he had, so I told him to go for it, I didnt NEED it, just kinda wanted it, I'll spend the $$ on more important chit like carbon reeds, intake spacer, etc.:sifone:
Let me know if ya need any help, here is a few more updates on mine, dive ladder, BIG tabs, and steering installed, just gotta plug the motor in:sifone:
I bought them used from a guy on OSO, they are K-Plane type(but not real K-planes) converted for use with benett pump and cylinders, which I was already set up for so it worked out. Spent the better part of 2 days installing those, then I had one not working, was just a pin in a connecter that had pushed out, I also have the TPI2000 LED indicators, which work much better than the old trimdicators.
Anything going on?? Maybe just make a run for Lake Boca, and have a few cocktails. I dont wanna push it since it has been sitting 9 months, break it back in easy, then it is off to Key largo Next week:driving:
