103 in an svl ?

Slightly off topic, but that has been the deal with the shootout the last few years, It started as a run what you brung, couple classes, beat your friends and brag event, Now it is a huge commercial deal, great for the economy and local charities, don't get me wrong. But each and every guy wants to complain about what was or wasn't in their class, now there are so many class designations, most go away with no competition and a trophy. Thats fine i guess, if that's what keeps em coming back, But the Octane had a huge motor, and crashed Luckily no one hurt, There had never been a class for SVL before, It should be classed as a single engine, Vee Bottom, 30' with Factory motor, racing against any other boat of that same length range and power that was a vee bottom. And although i would assume they were all out, there is nothing to say that is as fast as that lil Fountain would go, Looked like it was stuck to the water to me, I would expect it has more than 93 in it, not saying 103 Who knows , but more than 93, IMO.

so basically the other svl read the rules, which didn't clarify engine and was legal per the rules originally?

just goes to show you can't out fox a fox with alot of pull and $$$$$$.

nice try, i like the effort.

where's T2x, when you need a good laugh?

so, here we are 33 pages later and the Fountain did not go 103 at the shoot out!
will this require a new bottom for the boat, secret fuel additives, or should the they get the book "101 ways to 100 MPH"

Jimmy don't play stupid you guys were all there they represented the boat as a svl so if there was nothing wrong with what they did why not get it tech'ed if any thing you guys had the chance to get Doc's boat inspected and they missed that opportunity. Maybe your group should just put they're beers down and work a little more on they're racing program because you guys are really starting to look foolish. Another way to look at it is, that SVL can run 100 in a mile or they are cheaters. I hope they're svl can run that fast so it will prove my point that it is not the boat but the driver kick'n the rest of the fleet's ass at the races.

Only one place To even the odds . November will be a very good month ,
It will Settle the svl issue , and dump the dem's . :cheers2:
( Sounds like dark helmet in star wars )

Just so we are clear this is the guy telling me to put my beer down and learn how to setup a boat?

That's right Steve M it's all about you.

Nope it is not and never has been.

But since I started racing in 1991 I have seen allot of middle aged middle life crisis cant compete in anything else guys show up to change powerboat racing simply by meeting powerboat racing's only real qualification........ being able to buy a boat.

These types are around a few years and then gladly forgotten when they disappear. Their industry related racing partners simply left to search for another cheese boy with a checkbook to drain.

You are the guy who makes statement's betting that this team can beat you in your own boat.

You are the guy saying the other SVL's are drinking and not working on their boats.

I am sure you are different and Marin selected you for your incredible setup skills and driving prowess and not your ability to write a check.
