Well, finally havin a small window to get some info in here.

Had another great day at a great site. The water was great for the first race. A little windy and rainy on the shore filming, but nice if you want the crap beat out of you in a race boat. (Or if you want to watch a race boat beat the crap out of the team inside....:sifone:)

There were a couple of really tight races.

Here is the start lineup. Didn't get a chance to chat with Pat, but I will the next time. They did a nice job. Races went off as planned, when planned.

Some of the crowd on the beach. I don't know what the final number will be for attendance, but they had quite a group.

I talked with some of the racers and they were very pleased with the effort and organization of the event. Plus, they said they were spoiled by the events up here, St Clair and Michigan City. Overall, hats off to all of those who helped with making this an event they want to return to.

This one didn't race.......

In the first race, there was quite a battle in the Superboat Stock class between Talbot and Mapei. Kyler and Gary battled the entire race.....

This may have been the final corner before the flag. It was that tight lap after lap.....

Congrats to both for driving great races.

And it's really nice to see a guy from the Great Northwest, (Where I was Born:sifone:) win an outstanding race.

A very good race developed in Class 4 between National Guard and the 407 guys. I chatted with Mark a little before the race and he'd done a lot of work to the boat over the winter, after Key West. He still needs to dial it in he said, but it was running much stronger than last year.

He was quite a ways behind NG in the beginning, but closed the gap and they battled up until the last lap or so. I heard he spun it out on the North Turn and that's why he was no longer alongside at the end. But, quite a battle to watch.

I did not get a chance to talk to him after the race. Hopefully he'll chime in here with the story. The boat sure looked sweet. Inside the cockpit and the engine compartment was completely redone from last year.

Thanks for the update, looks like the SS race was a good one. Kyler and Joey Gratton have seemed to gel together nicely, to see them beat GB in his rough water boat is a feat!
who was driving for Gary???

Nice job Paul , Your pics are getting better and better every outing.:USA:
