Dave Artie Here is a cut job I did, they had a Cat with the steps in the last quarter of the boat, the thing was dragging the keels and ran however it pleased,I cut 5 feet out of the middle from the front step foreward.
The now shortened front was cut in the chine and sides flared open to match the geometery of the aft section and a piece of steel was bent around it through bolted with all thread bolts that way if a nut got resintited the outer nut would release it.
Those pieces on the sides are 2" steel channel.
