Planning Poker Run in Aug

The Chesapeake Sheriff Dept is trying to put together there first annual Ches. Poker Run to benifit the USO and other Ches. Charities. They want to have it on Aug 14. It will probably start around the Rudee inlet area and end up at Top Rack Marina in Ches. This is going to be for all sizes of boats. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is there first time doing one so we want to make it as smooth as possible.

Hope it goes well.....keep in mind the ACS (old HRPA run) is a big event out of Waterside the weekend before (8/6-7). Other than Richmond's JOTJ run (7/10-11) is coming to Portsmouth I'm not sure what other events you might want to schedule around.

That is also the weekend of the Emerald Coast Poker Run. I would love to do the Chesapeake run (only 1 1/2 hour ride from me) but I can't miss the ECPR in Destin, Fl..

Weekend after Labor Day is Bay Days, but I don't think that affects many of the Perf. guys in the area.

Keep in mind that boating activity (and possible participation) falls off HEAVILY after Labor Day weekend as kids go back to school, and their weekend activities start. Prime Example - We can have 70 boats at our raft up on Labor Day weekend, and honest to God 3 or 4 of us the weekend after. It is like a switch....
