Steve 1, in post 768 you mentioned that you could not tell any one the weight except Steve 2 and why is that ?

Artie Because everyone thought it was BS back then they were saying it would sink at the dock,so I stopped talking to people.

The target was 1200 pounds for the first Cat. What you see sitting out in front of my shop there is Less than 500 pounds and that was the projected weight at that point, now the inside glass,deck and internal structure are coming up here but the whole thing in my head then was how this was going to agree with my initial estimate ,

which could not be checked until I could weigh the thing, logging material gave me a clue during the first phase but as you know the Bag disposables and batch bucket residue tools Rollers washout , there is a lot of unknowns.

Everything is conjecture until it hangs from accurate scales.

OK Steve, I'm have'in trouble wrapping my head around something here. When you screw the foam core to the wood frame how do you then get the screws out to remove it after its laminated? I know i must be missing something here but i am picturing screws through the foam core from the outside and attaching to the wood framework on the inside. Or are the screws run from the inside through just the core? I didnt think the core could hold a screw on its own. :huh:

Dave/ Roger sorry I used #14 Screws from the backside that was the reason for the Pine 1x3 Battens so they would not break or flex when drawing the foam panel edges up also the reason I left the deadrise open to fasten the tunnel Core in place BUT!!! Removing the screws in some cases was done by hand fortunally the hull was right side up which made it a lot easer.

Tonights work setup, the Glass weighed ,The Resin weighed out, Vacuum Bag under the peel ply and breather on the side of the hull vacuum pump checked and the pipe setup and laying outside beside the boat.

This job is 50% setup, strategy and 50% actual work, the bag has been placed and the large pigs ears tacky taped then carefully folded over the side and placed outside, the breather next and the peel ply, the last run of tacky tape about roll and a half is placed within reach .

Rolled the Cat up on it's side, the bag and disposables are stripped out,Now I have the bulkheads on a bench done, a couple stringers left to build and bag into place. Dave ,Artie straight back on the wall is a simple fixture I use to pick off shapes.
