Scotty, put your boat here...

Thanks !!

Hatch is done !!! I kept the same factory texture & brush strokes on the inside of it..

(pic makes it look a bit light & rather funky)

It is rather contagious !! As a matter of fact I need to re-watch the video of you guys blowing by the bridge at Loto last year... That was a great clip !!

Why is it that everything you think will take you an hour or two always takes five ?

She's now strapped down & ready to roll

Took a few quickie mildly crappy cell shots earlier b/c to be honest I have been terrible in the past about not keeping or really even taking any pics. for that matter of allot of cool projects & I am attempting to get a little better at that...

Also wanted to give an idea for any "detail freaks" where I was & am going with the color combo's such as the valve covers & the reason they are painted the way they are... I wasn't trying to look overly modern just getting a nice flow & tying things togather a little... After all this little piss-ant of a motor by todays standards has some pretty cool history so I can't be getting to hightech on her, I gotta stay true to my roots..

Before anybody asks: Yes that carb is for mock up & not the one that will be ran, no the hose clamps arn't tight, yes I realize thats a chain laying on the intake, not its not fully deatiled out yet & yeah an air cleaner of some sort is in the works...

And here I thought it was just because you wanted a fun-house picture of yourself in the reflection off the exhaust:eek::)

It's looking great, bud! I'm looking forward to seeing a similar video to what someone else recently floated around.

I just realized there was supposed to be a pic. attached to that last post friday... woops..

Anyways I got a little time this afternoon to work on the hatch & start putting it back togather.. Here's a quick shot of it still needing some hardware bolted on, such as hinges, perimeter mld, holdown pins, stern light plug & another quick clean up.. I'm swamped tomorrow but maybe I can find some time to finish it up, just wanted to post a quick shot again to give a better idea of whats going on with it..

Next time you guys see this it will hopefully be wrapped in yellow !!

Heading west baby !!

You know you got a dull thread going when you start quoting yourself !!

Anyways heres the shot that was supposed to be attached to that post... Not as if anybody probably wanted to see another pic that looks about the same... But thought I would throw it up anyways b/c It was a cool day for me to get to actually take something & let somebody else do what they do best & give it their touch again..

Damn!!!
Even if the photo is out of focus, I can tell that motor looks tight!!!
NICE!!

What did you do, borrow Sean's cell phone for the pic?:ack2:

Looking good!!

Pine tree stumps for motor mounts... Hmmm, never thought of that...

Got to spend an entire 20 min. on the hatch today & get a little more done on it..

Walking out of the paint booth today I couldn't resist snapping a quick shot of the old man working his magic on the starbord tank... I've been trying to get him involved a bit here lately.. I'm not real good at deligating so maybe if I had more sence I wouldn't have done 99% of this project myself.. Anyways its cool to have other people that would like to see the boat wet nearly as bad as I would.. Or maybe better yet he just wants it back in its corner of the shop !! haha..

Yep, that's another pic from Sean's cell phone.

Cool the old man is involved.
But, I think it's probably only to get it out of the way.

Plan is to have both tanks completly ready for paint by the time I get the motor back from Eddies.. With it getting dropped in first chance I get.. Then paint the tanks (hopefully dropping them in place & not pull them back out 3 times) & start rigging with what I got..

Hey I'm doing good to get the crappy cell shots I get... I might even break out a real digital camera & go all "sharkey" on you boy's when it actually gets done..

Pine tree... No cheap stuff here bud !!! Only apple wood under the front mount, saved the pine for rear cushon..

Hey, my actual "Dig Cam" is like five years old. It takes picture like Sean's cell compared to what I can get out of my freekin' phone now.

Apple is a much better choice. Harder wood. Pine is to soft, it will compress too much.
But the stump look is a nice touch:ack2:

Just busting your ballz my friend.
As nice as that thing is coming together, I'd be afraid to run it.
Maybe that's why I don't intend to go THAT tight on my boat.
I mean, I want it to look nice, but I don't want to be afraid to use it.
But your's is coming along incredible!!

We need to set up a meeting of "us guys" for a party night someplace.

And I think we know who "we" are.
Chris- you still lurking out there??
BBQ at my place - who's in??
We can do it next month, and then all run out to Havasu.
(I realize none of us currently has a running boat, but we may be able to find some open seats).
