Class 5 question

I know there is no HP cap on class 5 from what i understand but what about the drive.
Is the Ilmor 625 or 650 and Indy drive legal..not trying to change any rules...just trying to pick a good package out..

625/650 with a Indy.. I would see no reason why not. Dont a fair amount of the boats in #5 push more than 625/650hp already?

Thats what I understood....I think the smallest hp being run is the 525 which is around 560...so I would think either the 625 or 650 is OK...but just want to make sure of that and the drive.

Thanks...I was going to ...but I know the Class 5 guys are pretty up to date on things and if there was something in hard ink...I figured I get the info here...before I purchase it I will get Smittys blessing...just want to price out the right equipment first.

Who is the class Rep for 5... its been a while since I was in the loop

Tyler....great....he'll tell me max 350 hp...and a A drive only...:cuss:

Gino I would ask Ilmor to build you at least 750 -800 HP if you want to stay dry. We are putting a twin Whipple 1200HP on pump 91 gas with a #6 drive in this year.

Wahoo - you need to get that batboat back in the states so we can kick a little more Ilmor a$$ on the course much like a certain poker run a couple years ago!!! What a riot that was! :biggrinjester:

Yeah, that was alot of fun :cheers2: Ian remembered that when I spoke with him last year at Metro

details please!! Lol

The truth?! You can't handle the truth!

I would have taken video but you really cant see behind you in a batboat too well :seeya: Lets just say it starts out in the middle of Lake Michigan with a loose seapump hose and ends with running circles around a certain red Donzi at about 80 in some nice size waves....:sifone:

Hahahaha this is gonna be a fun year I can already tell!
