Doesn't really matter to us. A lot of talk goes on I am sure, but here we sit. Nothing really new in the world of offshore. Merc has the setup for a true C1 engine, no problem (we basically have that ready to go just need the air restrictor), I don't think that is what the 750 guys want though. I just don't see how you are ever going to bridge the gap from 750 to C1 with just the difference in boats alone, not counting engines. Luckily, the 850's are in the middle of the spread, go faster, go slower, doesn't matter, it would just be nice to know what the rules are going to be. Gears, weight, restrictors, props, etc?
I wouldn't want to race an 850 on a cat lite prop (dramatically more torque and weight), but that isn't really an issue either (and I really doubt we need a 38/40 setup). We probably have what we need, the setup is just going to change and it would be nice to know before/during the rigging what needs to be done rather than afterward.
But this thread is about C1, looks like they have 7 teams right now, maybe 8-9 depending if Victory comes back with 3 and another new team joins in the mix.
