Pretty tight looking package, the cav plate on the drive looks to have an "upsweep" to it - I am guessing that compensates for the shorter lower unit relative to prop clearance?

Any word on how the turbo's will effect the rebuild intervals? Longer - shorter - and what they are thought to be for this motor?

cool I bet its 130,000 per set:rolleyes: 32valves per motor how long before retune like the 1075 and 1200 theres are what 25 k so with this maybe 45k, I like the turbines for that money and you would only need gerry knot right to ride with you just in case:driving:. GETTING BACK TO THE TURBO MOTORS I thinkit will be interesting to see how the 32 valve set up holds up and cost to keep them running and why not go for it and come out with a 1600hp 1800 hp turbo since they have 1200 blower motors and turbines are at 1500 to 1800hp.

Was just told...

80 hour valve adjustments
50 hour oil changes
250 hour life expectancy
265K for a pair

Just what I was told so don't hold me to it.

With 4 valves per cylinder the valvetrain won't have to be as aggressive as our regular 2 valve setups which probably equals the 250 hr rebuild interval! :)

I'm not a diehard Merc fan but kudo's to merc for stepping up to the plate into the 4 valve arena! Question I have is if this is based of a GM engine or something new?

Also, I notice it's a short stroke engine...must turn some R's!!

(ps, I didn't read the article so maybe it's alread stated...too busy at work)
