Floriduh.....Castle law gone bad......

I don't think I'm either arrogant, or irresponible but you are entiled to your own wrong opionions.

I didn't realize this board was overpopulated with state attorneys, and other lawyer know all types.

No one is trying to be a know it all defense attorney (even though there's one in the office next to me as we speak, ), but like any other thread, we're discussing a topic that people can look at in many different ways.

The laws, are the laws however, and all anyone is trying to say, is in the right, or in the wrong, shooting someone in self defense carries a lot of "questions" with it that can land someone in prison just as fast as the one that got shot.

What is it that you have become SO mad about, in over the last year or so in general? I've never remembered you sounding so hostile in the many years of hanging around OSO. It honestly seems like on nearly all of the topics you choose to be involved with, you carry this harsh, threatening, "I'll blow the MFer's head off at any cost", tone nowadays, which is completely different than what others including myself, have known you to be like.

You used to have all of these hilarious one liners, and enjoy launching them at Cashbrain or similar figures. Now it just sounds like you'd rather drag someone behind your truck for 6 miles, and wash them down with rubbing alcohol after ward, because they didn't spell or post a picture correctly?

I'm not trying to make assumptions, or place some unwarranted judgment on you. I've just noticed that the jokes, & overall "sitting on the tailgate drinkin beer" attitude you used to have, has been replaced with some angry, resentful tone, that sounds like you'd kick a dog if it was sleeping in the way of where you're walking?

WTF, dude?

+1, Joe. You've turned in to a bitter old man vs the "regular Joe" that use to doll out some of the best life lessons I've ever read.

Horrible situation for anyone to be in.
I've had to draw down on thugs before and am grateful I didnt have to shoot anyone.

How do you shoot 3 people in your yard with a shotgun then yourself and not kill a single person?

Rock salt? Maybe the shotgun was a .410?

Uncle Dave

I carried a 5 shot 38, and there were three punks. I was confident I would have put them all down, then shoved the reloader in if they were still moving. Your friend must have been a crappy shot, and I bet it was an auto. Auto's are for people who believe in spray and pray. I would hit what I shoot at. I don't get scared or nervous. I think that's what scared the punks.

I'll put any of my 1911 "autos" against your 5 shot 38 for accuracy anytime.

I think most of us know that Joe is in a tough place with his life now. Its to
bad that we have some guys around here that feel the need to make themselves feel about themselves better by baiting him instead of trying to help....But, They got to run him off again so they feel good today

agreed

I looked back at the whole thread. I don't see any baiting. There's discussion and disagreement and some of it strongly worded. Just as there is on many topics around here. I do see alot of common-sense being directed at a guy that sounds pretty upset and and is talking about using a weapon.

It's a sad shame about what happened to the guy, but regardless of his issues, he's become a man who beats dogs with sticks, wants to kick everyone's ass at the drop of a hat, and has been relegated to being only able to express himself through insults and threats. This is not the place for that.

sooo....You guys were trying to save him from himself ?...Very Noble of you
I think you are a very smart guy,Chris

Bird, I have see other conversations off board about Joe, and these guys are truly concerned for him, as I think we all are.

Maybe if he hears it from people that he knows it will possibly influence his thinking on the matter. And sometime that takes plain language.

If I were near central FL, I would tell him this same thing face-to-face. Joe has some anger stuff going on right now. And while I appreciate the fact that he's feeling frustrated, he's speaking out loud about relieving that frustration through violent acts.

And while talking is sometimes just talk, sometimes it's that person convincing themselves that their thinking is right- especially if no one is disagreeing with them. I don't know what the perfect solution is for Joe. But doing nothing to dissuade him is probably not the best approach.

There have been a number of efforts to reach out to Joe. After the last incidents (plural) we could have sent him away permanently. But we didn't.

So no one is to engage him in civil conversation because he is having a hard time as of late? Being down on your luck does not give you a free pass on displaying sociopathic behavior.

It is more than that..Serious health problems...

OK...I think the Dog beating thing is what realy fired people up.Anybody that knows me understands my thoughts on this..However...
Out here I know alot of guys that still believe beating dogs is fine. confronting them and pushing them just pisses them off. backing people in a corner never works. It just makes you feel good....If you explaine your side and show them it works. 9 out of 10 come around, eventually
Keep pushing them and it just turns into a fight.
I feel this is what happened to Joe....He is not a bad person. He was just brought up a certain way

WOW ! Waaaayyyy to much typing for me !!!:)

Until just recently, didn't know what exactly had happened to him that changed his personality so drastically. I am STILL unclear on what exactly his medical condition is, but if there's a treatment, he should pursue it.

I don't know which posts you're referring to as "baiting him"", but that is the LAST thing I was trying to accomplish in mine. I didn't get the impression the others were trying to intentionally get him worked up either? There are plenty of members like myself, that would like to see the old Joe back.

There are more & more NEW members joining all the time, that don't know the old Joe. They unfortunately only know the new Joe, which isn't a guy that ANY of us would have befriended in the past. I hope he can get through this "phase", and get back to enjoying his life again.

Here is the issue. I've sent Joe everything I have on the treatment being performed on my Mother-in-Law at Wayne State up here. And I am certainly one who misses the old Cuda. His fleet was fun to discuss.

This was last April:

I don't have a month or two. It sounds like my best bet so far is to go to Jackson Memorial in Miami, or to Shands in Gville. They both have the gamma knife. I think I'll go to Shands ER, become overwhelmed by a throbbing headache, and just happen to have my medical records with me. I don't think they can refuse when you go to the ER. I'll fight with them later about the bill.

No matter how you boil it all down, in nearly every aspect of life, it's about the money.

next post:
Geeze! Then at ten am this morning, I had two state troopers, one sheriff, and a lady from the driver's license office pull up to see if I was able to drive! It's all because I've been bugging the governor's office. One cop was a real *****. I was standing outside just about to feed my dogs when they pull in the street. When he asked if I had any weapons, I should have asked him what he needed. The deputy never said a word, and the other trooper was nice, but when that other ***** said he wanted to go inside, I told him no. Not unless he had a warrant! Fuking asswipe, he really ****ed me off. They acted like they had John Dilinger cornered here or something.

I missed this thread somehow........sounds like he has it really rough.
