Find a Lost Cell Phone

FOUND! It was in her dance bag. She had looked there, hate to admit it but so did I, but it was laying face down and you couldn't see the black back side of the phone against the black bag until I actually emptied the bag out and found it. I guess a little tramma was good for her ... and it did get her to straighten up her room.

Thanks for all the tips but I never did find a speaker to try that, too many laptops in the house, guess I threw out all the old desktop speakers.

Thanks - Greg

Explain this Mark. Dont get what you mean.

Cell phones transmit acknowledgments for all the data they receive and occasionally will also transmit a ping to let the cell tower where they are. Many devices will get interference from those transmissions and go buzz....buzz, buzz, buzz....buzz etc. My computer speaker system at home does it, my headset system on my work phone does it and one of my car stereos does it. Most of the higher end electronics are shielded from it now so it is not as prevalent as it used to be.

from reading SOS! :)

If you've ever been next to a landline or speaker when your cell is downloading data, you know it.

Ted's got the 2nd part covered, the 1st part was "from reading on SOS!"

If you don't know some thing, ask on SOS and we'll get you the right info :cheers2:

ps- it's more of a blip ba da blip ba da blip ba da buzzzzzzz than a buzz, buzz.....buzz etc but close enough... :bump:

Yes, but I'm too manly to say "blip ba da blip" :sifone:

I was going to suggest looking in her purse. We tore our house apart recently looking for my wife's phone and it was in the bottom of her purse where she had looked a couple times.

I was going to suggest the fridge. Go to get a drink and need a free hand, set your phone down in the fridge and grab a drink and walk away.

Looked in the fridges, already thought of that. I should have known she would never leave the house without it even though she swore she didn't have it at dance that night.

Now if only we can find my wife's missing ipod, that one has been mia since Christmas.

Thanks - Greg

I admit that I have done that before with the TV remotes. Never with a phone but I have spent a long time looking for a remote only to find it the next time I want something to drink. :banghead:

Ever notice when you go on a search for a missing phone or remote or screwdriver you get sort of crazed and you're looking but you don't really see anything because you're already thinking of the next place to look ?
And eventually you'll circle back, find it and wonder why it wasn't there when you looked in that spot the first time.

Or, if you're looking for one specific item, you find 3-4 items that you needed in previous searches, but never found?
