Stop worrying about it, buy one, say I DO and get that party started!
+1, I should have known I'd get more input on wearing/not wearing a ring than advice on buying a ring. I would have left that part out but does make for good conversation none the less.
I take my marriage very seriously, and I really love my wife.....And it was a huge commitment that I don't take lightly.
+1, and I do as well or I wouldn't be marrying her. IMHO weddings are silly, but she doesn't think that way so to satisfy her; we are getting married. If you never said "I do", would you love your wife less? On 5/23 I love her as much as I did on 5/21- saying "I do" on 5/22 doesn't change any of that for me.
Mini-jack- I'll be 38 when I get married and prior to her had never dated a girl over 12 months (by my choice for you funny guys- LOL!). 3 months after us meeting, she sold her house and moved in with me. 3 months after that I sold my house and we moved in a RV- if any thing can try a relationship, try living in 350SF after dating for only 6 months, and doing it for 2 years! If you come out alive, 4 years later you get married. Just saying when we met, we knew where we were going to end up married (or killing each other I guess- LOL). So anyway- I'm "all in" and yes, a ring is a symbol of that but I don't like wearing jewelry, plus work in an environment where it is unsafe.
As far as work- my hands are in too many places way too often to deal with taking a ring on/off all the time. DC voltages (what phone company uses) are more dangerous than AC voltages but either way, metal is a conductor and shorting any of them together can get ugly real quick. Phone company circuit packs are expensive and they don't take kindly to them being messed up; not a microscope I want to be under if if the actual power requirements aren't dangerous to me physically.
Ok- so a few votes for titanium, which I like as well.
Gold- I'm tan and kind of already nixed yellow gold off the list but now that I pay attention to mens rings (vs in my single days just looking at the womens rings); I've noticed a majority of yellow gold rings out there. Kind of leery going "other than yellow gold" since that was kind of like the traditional, but feeling better about it now that it seems other materials are more mainstream.
White Gold- Seafordguy (or others)- Any issues having to get it re-coated or issues with softness/bending?
Tungsten carbide- going to look more in to this one. Buddy of mine had one of these I think that I liked a lot, he was only married for 7 months so don't really want to ask what it was made of.
I refuse to get one. They are way to expensive to take off...
Leading cause of divorce is marriage!
Cool ring off roading- I'm going to look more in to those as well.
Thanks guys (and Julie of course!)
:cheers2:
