California road trip....

My bike is in Ft Lauderdale now . The plan is to hit Daytona for Bike Week then ride over to Cali . Coast to coast in about 7 days then up the coast to Vancouver in about a week then back home to Ontario . House sales are down no better time to go for a good long ride . Get home middle of April .

what kind of temps could you expect??

There are several pockets of temp changes.

On your way UP North on the Coast highway after Nepenthe you will travel through the Big Sur redwood forest and temps will plummet and gets HUMID.
These trees respire like 400 gallons a day and blot out the sun and absolutely need to be seen to be believed.

Past the big sur forest you get to Carmel and Moneterey.

In The Carmel/Monterey area high 60's low to mid 70's
You are right on the Ocean and will get early morning fog that wil take a while each day to burn off.

Just an hour East of carmel you have the wine country and that can get into the 80's pretty quickly.

North of Monterey you get into the castro valley and it warms again.

Careful if you are going 40 through Flag, AZ and NM. Could run into some very cold weather and snow. You may want to go south through Texas but highway 10 sucks.

Once you get to CA and head up the coast you will be amazed. Here is a link to a riding site. This thread has some great photos of what you can expect to see. You may want to scroll through the first page as there are a lot of bikes and people shots. WARNING! The Pashnit site is very addictive (like SOS) and you can spend hours looking at these pics. :D
