Hayim's efforts to support cancer research have permeated other aspects of his busy life. To celebrate his recovery from cancer, he began competing in offshore powerboat racing, naming his competition boats "Recovery" and donating 100% of his winnings to cancer research and treatment. Over a ten-year period, Hayim won a remarkable three U.S. Championships and four World Championships, donating several hundred thousand dollars and inspiring many others in the process.
"The racing team and I wound up touching a lot of people because of our story, and not really because of the racing, and that was just fine with me," said Hayim.

I can say from first hand experience that Stu has not only "talked the talk" he definitely "walks the walk". I have seen him personally step in to assist people newly diagnosed with various forms of cancer. He takes time to speak directly to them and offers not only encouragement but also leverages his contacts to help them negotiate through the choices of treatment, best hospitals and top specialists.
Stu tells a story where he was laying in his hospital bed after his diagnosis. He felt that his string had run out and the future was hopeless. At that point he received a surprise visit from a childhood friend who had previously experienced a similar illness. The friend basically told him that the outcome was not inevitable and that proper treatment coupled with a positive outlook would see him through this ordeal.
Since that day Stu has been "paying it forward".

Car boats were all very neat in the detailing.........the superhero/cartoon boats were also very detailed but would leave you up to endless heckling at the dock.....
All theme boats seem to suffer "lot rot" on the resale market too....

Stu was retiring from the sport (I think he did that more than once) when I started at Powerboat, but Eric Colby, my editor back then, told me he was/is a great guy. Seems like the consensus. And that MTI was jaw-dropping.

I don't know, Bill. I'd be happy with a 42 Cigarette if it had a painting of Elmer Friggin' Fud on it. Or a 44 MTI with a picture of Daffy Friggin' Duck. But that's just me.

I wouldnt Matt. I just don't "get" the theme boats. There have been a couple good threads about the subject both here and "there".
I almost did a 42 PR in a Scarface theme a couple years ago. I'm glad I didnt. I thought it would def be a novelty, but it would've gotten old quickly
