Any Snowboarders/Skiers Here?

I ski the more i can... around 30 times a year. Usually in Mont Tremblant (its amazing how little people there is during the week, compared to the weekends, and the pass is pretty cheap for students). Or on week nights I stay in the lower Laurentians, but you get bored fast of those 700 ft denivelations. Last christmas we went to Salt Lake and had a blast! We're leaving again on the 26th :cheers2:

p.s. im the ugly one on the right!
p.p.s. those are the first pics I post, hope I got it right

Ahh nice stuff! You ever hear of a ski club called Snowhawks? We are out of Toronto but there is an Ottawa club also. What university are you at?

Boarder here. Wife is a skier. We have been riding for almost 10 years...go west at least once per season to get a fix as snowmobiling is now the midwest activity for us. I'll be doing a trip to Summit County at the end of Feb/early March and hopefully hitting Big Sky for a long weekend. Vail is my favorite...back bowls and glades that last forever.

Geronimo...you might have a hard time finding them (although they are becoming more popular)...but try an Arbor Element. Absolutely awesome all-mountain board...and way better looking than most that are out there.

I'm most likely heading up to Cascade Mtn. in WI on Friday to get a few turns...

Oh...and if our snowmobile trip between Christmas and New Years falls thru like it did in 07, we'll be hopping the next plane to Salt Lake City!

Arbor makes some of the nicest boards I have ever seen. I rode my bosses one time and it felt like a caddy! It was just ready to cruise the whole hill. I've got a 156 K2 that I ride primarily because its nice and agile, although it's not great for carving up the hill. I bought a 159 Rosi a couple years ago that I keep around for the occasional blast.

Still have my Arbor, but my main means these days is a Capita Black Snowboard of Death 156. However...my next board will definately be another Arbor.

No never heard of, and i went to see the website and dont recognise your coats... But i noticed you have a couple of nice days near quebec city! Le Massif on a week day after a good 1-1 1/2 feet of snow (tipical snow storm for this region) is something you're not about to forget. La 42 on the west side and the 3 last runs on the east are all you need to have a blast!

Im from Montréal's university. i think you once told me you have a couple friends in McGill right?

And we had more than a feet of snow just north of Montreal today! not bad for the first fall of the season:leaving:

Sold the sleds 10 years ago when the kids were little, I've been skiing all my life, tried snowboarding 2 years ago, had to show my teenagers I could do it. Went ok, I'll stick with skiing.

I used to get 120-140 days of snow sliding in a year. I am mainly a snowboarder but I Alpined first and I am proficient on the tele boards as well. I Lived in Crested Butte, Colorado from 1999-2004. We would normally start hiking for turns labor day weekend when the first flakes would fly above 11,000ft. Then by late October we would use our sleds for backcountry access. Ski Mountain would open In November through April and then we would do the Spring Back Country thing until around Late May.

After finishing school and moving back to the midwest things have slowed for me. I still got 40+ days out west a season until March of 06 when my son was born and now we usually only do 2-3 weeks a season.

We are heading to Crested Butte for the Week of Christmas and I can't wait. Today we had flurries here in STL and I must say I had a grin on my face all day.

Below are a couple pics from last X-mas. A couple of myself and Minni Me (my son) and one of my wife with Paradise Divide (My alpine playground) in the background

Skier here - 41 years now, learnt before snowboarding was invented on wooded skis and leather boots, qualified instructor, and spent a few seasons in the French alps as a ski guide - I can still show up the youngsters! Oh and I can "keep up" on a snowboard as well.

Just arrived this morning - 10 x DVD boxed set of Warren Miller movies, the trouble is the Blizzard of Aaahs isn't in the set! Glen Plake - now there's a skier! :)
