I was talking with the wife last night and brought this idea up.
Let the foreign markets come in with their little go to work cars, and family get arounds to shmocker practice.
American auto should have focused on trucks and towing vehicles 10 yrs ago.
We as Americans have a penchant to have toys. Toys that need to be trailered.
We need tow vehicles.
Buy the wife a foreign made thing to get the kids to shmocker practice, but buy an American truck to haul around the toys.

And yes, if nothing else, this bailout should bust the union.
That is probably one of the largest factors that has hindered the automakers.

we can find a couple plants within 50 miles or so that are closed as opposed to building, Im in for $5.00 Do we get stock options?? Do I get a cushy corner office with a big desk and a view?? Do we get company retreats with expensive hookers and free booze?? I am willing to sacrifice and take a cessna instead of a corporate jet. We can get Reggie on board if we give the cars a beak instead of a hood ornament and use 24kt gold rims. Brownie can do the never rust stainless exhaust. JC does engines, Dave does the paint, I will do practical aplication evaluation and we can put stecz in charge of the windshild washer squirters ( the stufff does kind of look like koolaid). Mexiclean can make them shiny. The Jersey boys will be in charge of anti theft systems. Gino can head up the collision avoidence systems. who else do we have for critical positions??

I stayed at a Holliday Inn last Night!!! Well……..not realty, but if it meant getting a corner office, free booz, and hookers. I would stay in one any night it is necessary! And I could throw in a couple bucks! Like $50 :26:

I am in the warranty business so I can do risk management. I'm thinking we offer an old-style warranty- 12 mo/12000 miles on us. After that I may cover powertrain to 24 mo/ 24000 miles. Then you're done. If the car saves you 1200 up front for the shorter warranty you can put it towards an extended (that we will also sell them).

I was staying in Bissone Switzerland which is 5 miles fron the Italian border for a couple months last year.I got a kick out of seeing the trainloads and truckloads of Smart cars coming out of Switzerland.They love them in Milan because there is no parking and if there is a spot to tight for a conventional car to parallel park a Smart can fit in perpendicular to the other cars.I went for a short ride in one not a bad car, the motor is built by Mercedes from what i have heard and is well built because that is the Swiss way..Used to crack me up having them things go zinging by us on the highways doing 90mph

I started taking pictures of all the different color schemes and graphics that everybody had them in and was going to make up some sort of a collage .I really think they are a practical car and seem well built.
