I was watching from the Galleon roof. They hooked the boat on lap one and had to recover. Took the same line on lap 3 and it was over. One of the red towboats got 'em and I was wondering the same thing about the cost. I heard on the radio that when the boat got back to the dock it sank and a diver had to go down and hook up lines. I drove from KW to MIami today and I passed the boat on its way home. It looked like the engine was out and the back hatch was now made of plastic shrinkwrap!

They were both fine. I flew back to Cape Coral with the owner. Lost the hatch, canopy worked as advertised. They are not happy with Sea Tow, we'll see if he comments.
He will be back out. Thinks Miami will be a tough deadline though....
Have a video of the scene, post-accident. once sea tow hooked up, my wife thought they were back in the race. :sifone: The tow boat and race boat were cooking towards the pits. Will post my video once it finishes uploading.

Anyone have an idea what the towing companies charge the race team for sonething like Hauling Baby HR to the lift? it wasn't a very long distance.
alos, does the race organization allow volunteers to bring their boats specifically to provide a free tow to the race team? Maybe put a special flag on the boat and sit in the inner track.
