There's no doubt the knowledge base is here but it's easy to do a search over their and find answers or discussions on something your looking for... That's the only reason I venture to OSO these days. It will take time before the technical database is close to equaling what has been posted over there...after all that took years....

We are very aware of that and have populated the board with some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry to enhance our technical sections. The ironic thing is that a lot of the great tech answers over there came from people that are now exclusive members here. But we are working on it.

Same independents still run the site that always did just not the servers..... Both places can coexist in the marketplace that is for sure.

Nope I can't get on there the last couple of days either. And work has SOS blocked, that's why I don't spend any time on SOS! On the weekends, I only check me email, not enough time to surf the web.

Agreed. I frequent SOS, OSO and MWBP on a nearly daily basis.. OSO is working fine now.

No, i can access OSO at work and not SOS, it gets blocked from some sort of filter. I would spend more time on SOS if it didn't get blocked.

A local guy "manages" the Home Depot here too.
But I like the locally owned, personally responsible family hardware store that has the old dudes working there.

But in all seriousness... There is room for many boating sites.. Each one has to make their own choises..and each site has it's own character. The question is.. do you want to be just a nother number.. with no customer support? or you want to be at a place where we take our member's issues seriously.

Personally...I don't wish anyone.. or any entity to go down... I wish.. hope.. and work on making SOS go UP... Up... and Up...

Of course I do. But your humorous comment, (and I thought it was funny, in fact....an interesting thought. :leaving: ) but it gave me a reason to post that I /we do not want to promote or dwell on failures… we want to promote success. SOS will be concentrating on the good and positive of this site, not the short comings of others.
