Thing is he had a month to get it ready.

That's the one thing I've never understood and this has nothing to do with DD...

I have seen many, I mean a LOT of race teams do everything last minute... Guys trailering all the way to a race site not even testing the boat before putting it on the trailer.... I mean, at least get a hose on it and fire it up!

They get to the race site and wind up having to wrench on it up until hours/minutes before a run...

Ask anyone, I'm the king of fire drills but it's never because I put something off till the last minute.

The whole race was only 2 1/2 laps from what I remember. Teague and Stan really gave DD some shiit on the broadcast for being late on his start.
