Bush @ Ft.Hood, Obama @ Camp David

Actually she was a civilian cop under contract to the base to provide the same duties that the M.P's are now providing in Iraq and Afghanistan.

She was on-base and on-duty when the incident occured.

She did an awesome job

WOW, If that's the case I stand corrected.

Kimberly Munley

Just three minutes after Hasan shot up his fellow soldiers, Munley tracked him down outside a pre-deployment facility and unloaded on him at close range.

"She fired on him twice and drew the attention toward her. He immediately spun around and charged her," said Chuck Medley, director of emergency services at Fort Hood.

"She fired a couple more rounds and fell back, continuing to fire."

Munley was hit in both legs and her wrist during the gun battle but stayed on her feet and kept firing at the charging gunman.

"She struck him a couple times in the upper torso and he went down," Medley said.

"When she rounded that corner, she made a split-second decision to put her life at risk. If she had not responded the way she had, we would have had an extremely high number of dead and injured."

Munley, a civilian cop employed by the Army, was recovering at the hospital Friday and was unavailable for comment, but she was doing well enough to take several calls from friends.

"She said one of the bullets hit an artery and she lost a lot of blood, but she sounded in good spirits," said country music singer Dierks Bentley, who met Munley at a July 4 event and called her Friday.

As are all the policemen and women that get fired on every single day of the year across the USA.

This hit VERY close to home recently

Some of you know Scott Smith (the officer with the dog) as the organizer of the Cambridge Poker Run. Thankfully Riki was the only officer wounded and he will make a full recovery. Actually seeing your buddy in action like this is sobering to say the least.

It's not funny in the least bit and someone already said it on our club site....but Smitty had to of chit his pants when that phucker came around that corner in those first few seconds of the video!!!!!:ack2::ack2::willy_nilly::willy_nilly: Looks to me like a classic case of police assisted suicide. :(:(

"OMG, they shot that man".

It may just be me but 1st thing that pops in my mind is the public perception that the police were wrong.

Glad to hear all officers made it out safe. Will Riki retire ?

Thankfully Riki only shattered a small non load bearing bone in his leg and it was a through and through shot. He will need about 8 weeks of healing and then another few months to full rehab. He never came off the bite until called. He was shot by another officer so it was a 9mm round and he released and re-bit when he was hit. Only after he was called off did he start to limp but came directly to Smitty. After a 120 mph cruise to the Emergency vet that picture was taken. Since dog handlers rarely have their weapons drawn it is likely he saved Smitty for serious injury or death. And the guy was definitely going for suicide by cop.
