House passes health care bill

Come on guys, It will be FREE to all those out there who don't want to pay anything. :ack2:

.

early public polls show 94%+++ of respondents strongly against it... what are these elected clowns thinking? :ack2:

They are thinking they have managed to take over 46% of the economy so far this year and this is another 16%. Over half in less than a year. On a roll.........

i especially like the part that if you elect not to have health insurance you get a fine...really, a fine for living my own life and making my own choices? reminds me of the saying the beatings will continue until moral improves.

If they pass this the Deocrats will either seal their own fate when it crashes and burns like it has in every other country, and/or will make sure they stay in power because so many people will be on the gov. tit that they will never vote them out.

The worst part of it is that companies like Wal Mart, which only covered around 46% of their employees, fought successfully to get an exemption from these harsh restrictions. So Wal Mart will continue their philosophy of offering a wink and a nod, and then shift their low paid workers to Medicaid so the States can cover them. Last I looked, Wal Mart workers cost states more than any other employer.

It's too bad the lobbyists won, they usually do. But while some were debating the issue honestly, lobbyists were busy filling the congress critters with smoke, and the public with BS. Fact is, most Americans couldn't afford the health care plan they have now, and that will likely get even worse.

If nothing was done, companies would have dramatically scaled back the plans they offer, or continue to raise employee contributions and deductibles. One would think that after awhile, people would start ranting and raving over their health care cost. With this plan, only some will, and the problems will grow exponentially.

One fact that was totally obscured in this big "debate", is that we cannot continue to spend as much as we do on heath care. Looks like another decade of pass the buck.

Exactly! Instead of looking for ways to LOWER health care costs (like tort reform), the liberal Congress only wants to throw more money at the health care industry in an attempt to "buy" more votes.

It makes me sick... :(

What a joke...at least my Democratic Representative voted against it. Looking at the map of ayes vs nays it amazes me how little area of the country from a geographical perspective came from districts that supported it.

Of course you have the NE, portions of CA and SE Florida.
