Does anybody have the info on this area? My wife is looking at a new position in Columbia.

What's the scoop on:
Boat Storage
Maintenance/Repair
Stuff to do

Thanks - Yankey

with that hair cut you would not fit in:sifone: nice lake, there is a web site for the lake i just don't have it here at work but i do at home if no one post it before i get there . you would also be close to a hand full of other lakes

Yankey,
I have lived on lake Murray since 1988 and love it! The lake is well marked and you have a very long boating season. Best Marina on the lake is Lighthouse, a good number of performance boats in the area. Lake Murray is outside of Columbia which is the states capital, for night life we have the vista and five-points. Charleston and Myrtle beach are a short drive as is Charlotte NC. Need anything else let me know!

Thanks for the link I'll check it out.

Just got off the phone with Lighthouse Marina; they show they store boats up to 32', but won't store my 31' Cigarette.:(

They stored my Bullet and Playboy before I don't understand!

Good to know, I'll stay on them.

Call them back and be sure to say "ya'll" a few times and they will lighten up......:26:

I've lived on Lake Murray since 1992. It's great. I also have access to MLS and can send you some info on housing if you need it (not an agent though).

We are officially moving to Columbia.

I've tried and tried at the Lighthouse Marina, but Stan Jones (dock Manager) says he is scared of handling a 31' boat. That f'ing sucks.

Are there any other options?

YankeY,
Congratulations and Welcome! I’m really surprised at the push back you are getting from the Lighthouse Marina, they used to have a quite a few boats bigger than yours. Lord knows they love the HP boats when were at their pumps! Where did your wife land the job? Do you have a particular area you’re looking at for a home? Let me know if I can help!

Brad

Yankey, See if he will store it on the trailer. I had them store a deck boat for me 10 yrs. ago at least. I could call and they would have it in the water when I arrived. I see you have been on the lakemurraypowerboats site. We have a great group of boaters that hang out on the water. We have year round boating. It's a GREAT lake. Give me a call and we can meet for a beer. 803 932 4179. Bob P.S. the Chapin area where I live has the best schools and NO crime. We all have guns!LOL

I prefer the Lexington side of the lake, either side you will enjoy it!

Thanks guys - I will try again and see if they have any additional options.
Is there anyother options for covered docks that I could put a lift?

My wife works for Eaton (10 yrs) and is transferring to the electrical group. It seems we don't stay anywhere too long (this would be our 7th house), but we did look at some houses. After the losses on the last ones and who knows this time - we are going to rent a place.

We'll have a moving in party and we can all meet up for a beer.
