Anyone know why or how the boat company was named APACHE ? Did someone have a interest in indian or Apache indian history ?

Because the apache warrior was a single man on a roll and always stood his ground !!!!!!

Same as the boat !!!!!:sifone:

That's it, nothing more ? I'm not trying to stir things up but just thought there was some history behind the name.

ALL GOOD BUDDY !!!!!!:sifone:

But thats where the idea of the name came from !!!!!!

THE LONSOM WARRIOR ?! :)

I never asked Bobby but I would assume it's because Apache's were the most fierce warriors... Bobby Also designed the Apache nickel head, it was a modified Indian Head Nickel. Jack Kramer helped Bobby get the original trademark for it....

What's interesting is the Apache indians were screwed by the US government....they may have the same feelings for the boat company... :(

Folks, I talked to bobby, I had some of my info wrong on the nickle. It was actually the $5 indian head coin that Bobby used for the Apache logo. Gail also did the lettering on the logo.

Also confirmed why Apache was the name.... My guess was correct for the most part but there's a lot more to it and it goes back to the Kilpatrick days when Bobby built the Squadron named Apache. All of this was before Kramer.

The original question was where did the name of the company come from...
The answer..and oar company. Reuben was Bobby's trademark,El Indio was Benny's

Thanks!

Funny part is I was told it was the $5 coin by Bob once before and had a mometary brain fart the other day when I wrote it.... The logo was sometimes referred to as the "Nickel" so I think that's what confused me. Oh well, we all make mistakes...:seeya:
